Lasagne is a scrumptious, cheesy and juicy dish originating from Italy. Did you know, in Italian, “lasagna” means a special type of cooking pot for pasta? Bolognese lasagna being Italy’s national dish, consists of layers of flat and wide pasta with a thin coating of Ragu, a type of slow-cooked meat sauce, along with tomato sauce.

A lot of variations are found in lasagna recipes around the globe, differing in amounts of meat, vegetables and mozzarella cheese in between its layers. Its sauces are easy to make and the pasta strips are available easily in stores, making it a perfect treat in many households. However, a typical Italy’s national lasagna is meant to be a simple, protein-rich, mouthwatering serving.
